It has been six years since our original training course, Time to Go Zoom, was first introduced, and it is certainly time for a revisit.
Zoom has become one of the world’s leading communication platforms, connecting people for meetings, classes, training sessions, podcasts, social groups and personal conversations. Whether you are chatting with family, joining a community meeting or managing professional events, Zoom can be an extremely powerful tool.
However, as Zoom has evolved, it has also become more complex. Many users find themselves overwhelmed by the number of features, settings, panels and web pages now involved. Taking part in a Zoom meeting successfully requires more than simply activating the Join Button. Hosting a meeting requires even more confidence, especially if you are managing participants, chat, screen sharing, recordings, captions, breakout rooms or webinars.
Our updated course, Time to Go Zoom Revisited, has been carefully designed to help you use Zoom with confidence when working with JAWS for Windows. The course takes you step-by-step through the important tasks, from installing Zoom and joining your first meeting through to hosting, scheduling, managing participants and using more advanced features.
Who Is the Course For’
- People who are new to Zoom and want a clear, accessible starting point.
- JAWS users who have used Zoom before but want to understand the current interface more thoroughly.
- People who need to join meetings, classes, support sessions or social groups with greater confidence.
- Hosts, trainers and meeting organisers who need to manage Zoom meetings from the keyboard.
- Users who want one structured resource rather than searching through scattered web pages, FAQs and help articles.
The course is written in clear, practical language. It assumes that you are familiar with JAWS for Windows, but it does not assume that you are already confident with Zoom. Where a procedure is important, the book gives step-by-step instructions and explains what should happen as you work through them.
For those who want to go further, the course also explores many of Zoom’s more advanced settings and explains when they may be useful.
How the Training is Delivered
This new edition takes a completely different approach from previous versions. When you purchase the course, you will receive access to a secure area of our web site where the training is provided as a fully online text-based course, with no audio.
This approach allows the material to be updated more quickly as Zoom continues to change. It also means that new sections can be added in future if particular features or workflows need further explanation.
The course is therefore a complete rewrite of the previous release, built around the current version of Zoom Workplace and the way it behaves with JAWS for Windows.
In addition to explaining how features work, the training often explains why a feature exists, when you might use it and what choices you may need to make. This is especially important in Zoom, where the same task may involve the desktop app, a meeting window, Outlook Classic or the Zoom web portal.
The text book is approximately 550 pages in length. Every chapter gives practical keyboard-driven examples for working with specific features.

Please note that, despite the length of the book, not every Zoom feature is covered. Good examples are Calendar and Contacts in the Zoom desktop app. In our view, these areas are not currently accessible enough with JAWS to document as reliable workflows. Where a task is better carried out on the Zoom web site, or through Outlook Classic, the book says so. The course focuses on areas where accessibility can be achieved to a reasonably high standard.
