Microsoft Teams Scripts Version 3 Available 14 April 2026
Version 3 of the Microsoft Teams scripts for JAWS will be available on 14 April 2026.
This update includes a range of significant improvements, including:
- Complete optimisation for the latest release of Teams.
- The return of the typing indicator. This popular feature was available in a much earlier version of Teams, but had to be removed from Version 2 due to performance issues. It has now returned in a more effective form. As with our WhatsApp scripts, you can choose to hear a sound when someone is typing, hear the name of the person typing, hear both, or hear neither.
- Better handling of Favourites. Changing the order of Favourites in Teams can be awkward and time-consuming, and the scripts now make this process much easier.
- Improved accessibility in many areas, including more accurate detection of the status of a contact while inside a chat.
- New keystrokes to move more quickly to different areas of Teams.
- An improved activation facility, particularly helpful in corporate environments.
As with the original purchase, support and updates are included for 12 months.
Version 3 of the Teams scripts is compatible with JAWS 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026.
For existing users, the cost of the upgrade to Version 3 is £50, currently $62 US.

Winning Teams Version 3 Training Course Coming in May 2026
Following the script update, our newly rewritten Winning Teams Version 3 training course is scheduled for release in May 2026.
This is the third iteration of the course and has been completely rewritten to reflect the latest version of Teams and the way blind users need to work with it today. Rather than simply showing you where things are, the course focuses on helping you work with Teams efficiently, confidently and professionally, especially in high-pressure situations such as taking calls, hosting meetings and responding quickly to participants.
Delivered through a secure section of our web site as an online text-based course, the training is designed so it can be kept up to date as Teams continues to evolve.
The course covers a wide range of topics, including navigation, chat, teams and channels, meetings, files, calls, notifications, calendar management, meeting options, PowerPoint Live, Copilot, recordings and much more.
